NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Emma’s Ride, a charity bike and jeep ride, for the Emma Grace Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, June 3, in North Vernon.
The Emma Grace Foundation, a local nonprofit organization, was founded in memory of two-year-old Emma Sweet. Emma and her father went missing on November 25, 2021. After two and one-half days of intense searching by family, friends, and first responders, Emma’s body was recovered in the White River a little south of the Southern Crossing Bridge.
The Foundation’s website said the community has been “absolutely amazing supporting the family during this journey. There were also so many agencies from other areas that supported and helped. Emma touched so many lives in just two years here on Earth.”
The foundation was formed to help children and families thrive to be the best they can and give each child and family an opportunity to grow, be part of events, and have joy no matter their struggle. We also give back to community first responders to thank them for all their hard work and dedication.
Registration for Emma’s Ride is at 10:30 a.m., on June 3, at the North Vernon Amvets, with kickstands up at noon. The donation for the ride is $20 per bike or $25 per jeep. A meal is provided for each entry and there will be a raffle at about 5 p.m.
