COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) announces the promotion of three department members to fill officer vacancies left by the recent retirements. These advancements were effective on January 30.
Lt. Leroy Armstrong is now a captain. Capt. Armstrong is a nineteen-year veteran of the fire department and became a lieutenant in 2019. He holds a Fire Officer certification and many others through the State of Indiana.
Firefighter Allen James has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. James has served fifteen years with the Columbus Fire Department and has earned several certifications during his tenure.
Firefighter Jarrad Mullis has been advanced to the rank of lieutenant. Lt. Mullis has served nine years with CFD gaining numerous certifications. He also serves as a member of the Indiana Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team as a logistical specialist.
