COLUMBUS, Ind. – Three Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers have received Letters of Commendation for their actions in helping save the life of a man suffering from a medical emergency this past fall. The honors were presented by Chief of Police Michael Richardson.
On November 28, 2022, CPD officers Aaron Graham, Tyler Boswell, and Sgt. Lukas Nibarger responded to the 900 block of Third Street for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, they found an unconscious man without a pulse.
Working in tandem, the officers used their training and provided CPR. An automatic external defibrillator was also deployed, resulting in two shocks being given to the man, who regained a pulse and began breathing on his own a short time later. He was then transported to a local hospital.
