FRANKLIN, Ind. – Authorities responded to a dump truck accident that resulted in the death of a Franklin man in the 3100 block of S. Mauxferry Road, near Amity, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the accident at approximately 2:45 p.m. When emergency personnel arrived, they found a fully engulfed dump truck, according to law enforcement.
According to the crash report, after the passenger side tire hopped off the road, Timmons overcorrected into the ditch on the other side of the road.
Mauxferry Road, between County Road 300S and County Road 350S, was closed temporarily as investigators collected evidence and the scene was cleaned up.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, plus the Amity and Nineveh Fire Departments contributed to the investigation.
