BROWNSTOWN, Ind. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) has made an arrest in connection to the 2021 murder of Seymour resident Lisha A. Branum.
On November 10, 2021, Branum was found dead in her home near the 400 block of W. County Road 1050N. The cause of death was recorded as a gunshot wound.
Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer said the investigation led to Brady A. Parrish, 25, of Kurtz. After reviewing the case, Jackson County Prosecutor Jeffrey Chalfant filed a murder charge and Jackson Circuit Court Judge Richard W. Poynter issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.
The sheriff’s department located him in Kansas City, Missouri. JCSO detectives traveled there, worked with Kansas City police, and took Parrish into custody on the warrant on August 30. The extradition process was completed on September 9.
Parrish was transported from Missouri to the Jackson County Jail on Tuesday, where he awaits an initial hearing on the charges.
