HOPE, Ind. – The old gym attached to the Hope Community Center was destroyed by fire Wednesday night. When firefighters arrived they began trying to control the blaze from the interior, but were forced to evacuate and work from the outside. Columbus Fire Department Engine 2 assisted in containing the spread of the fire from above. No one was injured in the fire.
Hope utilities estimates that approximately 300,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the blaze.
