COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Louisville and Indiana Railroad had planned to make crossing repairs on westbound State Road 46, near Lindsey Street, in downtown Columbus on Tuesday evening. The work has been postponed until Thursday night due to the rainy weather.
The railroad will close two of the three lanes at a time, with one lane always remaining open, while work is in progress. Restrictions are now set to begin Thursday at around 8 p.m. and last two to three hours.
Drivers, who are exiting downtown and heading west during this time, are reminded to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through the active work zone.
