FRANKLIN, Ind. – There is still time for you to sign-up and participate in the Memorial Day Mile run/walk on Monday, in downtown Franklin. The holiday event usually attracts over 1000 runners. Find out more and register here.
In advance of the race and in observance of Memorial Day, members of the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion Post 205 placed 165 crosses and flags on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn last Sunday.
On race day or anytime this weekend, you are invited to view the crosses that represent each of the county’s heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
There will be no official awards ceremony after the Memorial Day Mile run/walk this year as congregating is discouraged due to COVID-19.
