COLUMBUS, Ind. – An off-duty Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputy, was almost hit head-on by another car while it was traveling the wrong way on U.S. 31 North, on Saturday at around 11 p.m.
Deputies that were on duty later located the vehicle heading south in the northbound lanes of traffic, near the Circle K at the Driftside Manufactured Housing Community. They were able to safely stop the car and identify the driver as Bradley Alexander, 33, of Nineveh.
He was suspected of being intoxicated and was first taken to Columbus Regional Health and then arrested and jailed on preliminary charges of endangerment, reckless driving, operative a motor vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, and an out-of-county warrant.
