NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was contacted last Sunday in reference to a report of a possible child solicitation case after a social media post was made by a “Predator Patrol” group.
Wayne Denney, Jr., of Jennings County, allegedly posted sexual references to a child he believed was a 15-year-old girl. All possible evidence was turned over to JCSO. Once jurisdiction was determined, an investigation ensued.
On Tuesday, after Jennings County detectives interviewed the suspect concerning the allegations, he was arrested and booked into Jennings County Jail on one count of child solicitation. He is being held without bond awaiting an initial court appearance.
Jennings County Sheriff Kenny Freeman states that he will “aggressively seek out sexual offenders or anyone who attempts to commit any harm, especially to a child.”
