COLUMBUS, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) has announced that a Flood Watch is in effect for much of Indiana from Friday through Saturday evening. In south-central Indiana, the Flood Watch has been issued for Bartholomew, Johnson, Brown, and Shelby Counties.
NWS says that 2 to 4 inches of rain is predicted for this weekend, which could lead to flooding. Minor to moderate flooding of area rivers and streams is possible, particularly in low lying areas.
Residents should take caution and monitor the forecast throughout the next several days. Drivers are reminded to watch for high water signs and not drive across flooded roadways.
