It’s exactly what I expected: a summer “popcorn” movie. It’s no surprise that Megan Fox is laughable because she’s just a terrible actress. That doesn’t stop the movie from having its moments — the elevator scene is, by far, the best. Enjoy it now, but it’s likely forgotten in two years.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is funny with lots of action. I knew very little of TMNT before seeing the film, so it was entertaining for me to learn how the turtles ended up in the sewer and how April O’Neil was involved. My only real recollection before seeing this film was that there are four turtles and one rat that all have a mutated into super heroes, however I did get a smile across my face as I was taken back to my childhood with one word…COWABUNGA! I think that they did a great job on the animation and special effects, the turtles look great in the numerous battle scenes. On the humorous side of the movie, two of my favorite scenes both include some musical vocals from the turtles! All in all this a good film, great film for the kids. This film is rated PG-13 due to violence so parents use discretion for your little ones.
It was a little hard to get passed all the terrible acting coming from Megan Fox in the beginning, but once this movie finally got going, it was action-packed! Things I loved: seeing little baby versions of the TMNT, an impromptu beat box/rap session, and Will Arnett. More Will Arnett please! If you love TMNT and anything Michael Bay has ever done, you will have a great time!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been the movie everyone’s asking about because… well, quite frankly, no one knows what to think about it. TMNT is a difficult story to tell in live action, even with 2014 movie magic. It also has lots of long-time fans to make happy. That being said, here’s what I thought about the movie: it was very entertaining and had a lot of funny moments, topped with a loveable, surprise Will Arnett character! The action scenes are energetic and very well choreographed. I’m not sure how I feel about the story or character development, but let’s be honest, the original TMNT story’s pretty ridiculous anyway. Just go have fun and see it for yourself!
