COLUMBUS, Ind. – Around 8 a.m. on Friday morning, Columbus Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at State Farm Insurance off Commerce Drive.
When they arrived, they found a passenger car fully engulfed in flames, and quickly extinguished the threat. No damages were reported to any of the surrounding buildings and no injuries were reported at the scene either.
Investigators reportedly spoke with the driver, who believed that a possible mechanical issue occurred prior to the fire. The vehicle driver told investigators that a strong odor of gasoline was present before the car caught fire. The vehicle was destroyed from the fire according to CFD, and damages are estimated at $1,500. The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.
